PEH has also been active in various emergency relief efforts. Following the earthquake in Gujarat India, a container full of medical equipment and supplies was shipped to Ahmedabad to furnish the IQRA Hospital which is run by a trust and had just been established to serve the needs of the masses affected by this terrible earthquake. This is the only major hospital in the Sarkhej area to date.

In December 2005, PEH shipped 8 forty foot containers filled with medical and other supplies to Pakistan for the benefit of the victims of the earthquake disaster that hit Pakistan’s northern areas on October 8, 2005. In addition, PEH used the services of Pakistan International Airlines and airlifted over 30,000 pounds of antibiotics, vitamins, medical equipment, tents, blankets, comforters and other essential items.

On August 10, 2006, three 40 ft containers donated by Philip Morris through Gifts in Kind International were shipped to Pakistan. These containers were specifically designated for the earthquake zone that devastated and flattened thousands of villages in Pakistan and Kashmir. PEH was the main sponsor of this project. Other partners were Rotary Club of Houston, Texas, Rotary Club of Islamabad Cosmopolitan, Gifts in Kind International, Philip Morris U.S.A. and Prudential Insurance. The recipient was a non-profit NGO based in Pakistan called National Rural Support Program “NRSP”.
